Bio
I am licensed in Minnesota with 12 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with a wide variety of issues: stress and anxiety, depression, coping with addictions and recovery, relationship issues, & life transitions. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you!
I emphasize building rapport with clients and developing a relationship that is supportive and conducive to the healing process. My specialties include motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, person-centered and cognitive behavioral therapy. I also incorporate mindfulness as well as DBT skills.
I believe that a client focused and strength based approach combined with hope, honesty, and humor can be helpful in creating positive change.
In my free time, I enjoy hiking, skiing, and traveling. I adore dogs, and plan to adopt one next fall!
“I was with someone recently who asked: ‘Well, don’t you think that if you do too much therapy it will take away your artistic process?’ And I told them: ‘The biggest lie that we’ve ever been sold is that we as artists have to stay in pain to create.'”
